The Principal as Village Builder:
Connecting Parent Hopes and Student Dreams

Request for Proposals

ATLAS Learning Communities a nationally recognized school transformation organization and sponsor of the distinguished National Annual Principals Institute seeks promising and best practice models that connect parent hopes and student dreams. On March 26-28, 2008, the 13th annual ATLAS Principals Institute will meet at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida to address the topic, The Principal as Village Builder: Connecting Parent Hopes and Student Dreams. Interested principals are encouraged to submit their design for the effective engagement of teachers, staff, parents, community, and students in the service of student development and achievement. The model should demonstrate the efficacy of the village building process and the role that the principal plays in insuring that the dots between school learning priorities and parent hopes and student dreams. Supportive artifacts such as DVDs, PowerPoint presentations, or letter of endorsement from parents, teachers, community members, and students will be accepted. All proposals and supporting documents should be received by March 1, 2007. All models received that meet the criteria will be listed and detailed in the institute binder.
