Hundreds of millions of dollars are available to Title 1 and non-Title 1 schools in appropriations for programs in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). There is flexibility in the use of these funds.

Title 1 School Improvement grants awarded to schools that fail to make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goals for two consecutive years, may be used to adopt scientifically based programs designed to increase student achievement.

Schools that work with ATLAS Learning Communities use a variety of funding sources. Some access School Improvement funds or Professional Development funds. Others seek out local private, corporate or foundation sources.
